Katherine Christine Bollinger, age 70 of Nekoosa, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. She was born on May 7, 1944 in Oconomowoc, WI to Chauncey and Betty (O'Hara) Cooke. She graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School with the Class of 1962. On October 6, 1962 she married Kenneth L. Bollinger in Eau Claire. The couple moved to Janesville where Katherine raised her family. She also provided in-home day care and was an Avon Representative for many years. After they retired, the couple moved to Nekoosa and enjoyed their retirement in the town of Rome. Katherine enjoyed camping and loved the outdoors and was quite the social butterfly, enjoying time with her family and friends.
Katherine is survived by her children: Kevin (Wendy) Bollinger, Barneveld, Kim (Tom) Ober, Morrisonville, Kent Bollinger, Eleva; grandchildren Kate, Jacob, Josh, Nicole; great grandchildren: Olivia, Gannon; brothers: Jay (Mary) Cooke, Oshkosh, Rodney (Rhonda) Cooke, Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 51 years: Kenneth "Ken" L. Bollinger.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Officiating at the service will be Pastor William Fischer. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 (NOON) until the time of service at 1:30PM.
