Karla Ann Peterson

Karla Ann Peterson, age 62, of Wautoma passed away Thursday January 4, 2024 at Aurora Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa with her husband holding her hand.

She was born November 22, 1961 in Northfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Luverne and Lavonne (Kaarevik) Edstrom and was baptized on January 14, 1962 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Northfield, Minnesota. She married Donald J. Fritz on February 14, 1981. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2008. She married Gary D. Peterson on May 6, 2011 in Wautoma.

Karla was a 1980 graduate of Wautoma High School. She worked at Campbell Tree & Land, Waushara Home Building Center and Dogger’s Bowling Alley. Karla enjoyed being with her family and friends, her nights bowling and pool league.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Peterson; three children, Derek Fritz, Dana Fritz and Dustin (Ariella) Fritz; three grandchildren, Dominick, Nikhil and Kyle; her mother, Lavonne Edstrom; four brothers, Keith (Sue) Edstrom, Kevin Edstrom, Kreg (Jeanne) Edstrom and Kyle (Barbara) Edstrom; one sister, Kristin Edstrom. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her father.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Leikness Funeral Home, 358 South Oxford St., Wautoma.
