Karl Elmer Schrader, age 82, of Redgranite, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, June 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
He was born December 17, 1939 in Milwaukee, the son of Elmer and Mary (Dolezal) Schrader. He married Jeanette on June 17, 1961 in Mukwonago.
Karl was employed at Berlin Foundry and later Nelson Muffler in Wautoma for many years. He also worked at the family business, Elmer’s Place in Redgranite. Karl was a very enthusiastic fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Steeler’s. He loved being outdoors and traveling to the family’s cottage in Eagle River where he enjoyed camping and boating. Most of all Karl loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanette D. Schrader, Redgranite; three children: Debbie Miller, Coloma, Terri (Randy) Roberts, Redgranite, Jerry (Cerry) Schrader, Spring Lake; six grandchildren: Jason (Lexi) Miller, Brian (Bethany) Miller, David (Sadie) Auck, Michelle (Jason) Siebert, Kenneth (fiancée Courtney) Gustin and Kimberlee Gustin; 10 great grandchildren: Braeley, Lilly, Grady, Greta, Annika, Chloe, Gabriel, Miranda, Oliver and Roxas; one sister: Virginia Thornton, Redgranite; one brother-in-law: Arne Solberg, Japan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law: Paul Miller; one brother-in-law, Robert Thornton; and by his sister-in-law: Eiko Solberg.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Karl will be laid to rest at Foster Road Cemetery in Redgranite. www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
