Karen Ernie

Karie Ernie, age 77, of Chicago, passed away in Montello on September 22, 2020.

Karie was a vibrant soul, she loved to dance, sing and puddle jump in the rain, and there wasn’t a room she didn’t light up with her smile. “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” was her favorite song and “You are my Sunshine” – all memories of growing up were days filled with her either humming or singing those two songs. She was a very talented painter and very much enjoyed transforming canvases into stunning scenes of nature. She was wonderful homemaker who loved cooking, baking and keeping a home comfy and cozy. She is and always will be loved and in our hearts. As she would always say, never Goodbye, only Goodnight.

She is survived by her daughter; Heather (Justin), Grandchildren; Amber (Clint), Robert (Kara), Chris and Great Grandchildren; Ayden, Rhylygh, Nolan, Madylyn and Jameson along with her wonderful friends Jan and Gary Blader. In addition to her loving husband Joe Ernie, she is proceeded in death by her lifelong friend Jamie Krol, and her parents Robert and Janet Ryle.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 11AM to 12PM on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Leikness Funeral Home.
