June C. (Kitchen) Pomplun

June C. (Kitchen) Pomplun, age 76, of Hancock, passed way Saturday evening, May 6, 2023 at Theda Care Medical Center in Berlin.

She was born June 28, 1946 in Neshkoro, the daughter of Walter and Irmgard (Buchholz) Harke.  She married Dennis R. Kitchen on February 19, 1966 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fairburn. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1993. Later, she married Gordon W. Pomplun on May 2, 2009. He died February 4, 2022.

June was a 1964 graduate of Westfield High School. She was employed at the former Farmers Exchange Bank in Neshkoro for many years. She served on the Westfield School Board and belonged to Neshkoro Lions Club. June was a very active volunteer at the Lions Camp and for the Lions Eye Bank. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fairburn and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Alan) Dredske, Neshkoro, Lynetta Chmiel, Oshkosh; one stepdaughter, Tammy (Ed) Kunkel, Iowa; grand- children: Steven Dredske, Westfield, Kayla McDowell, Wisconsin Rapds, Melissa Chmiel (Kegan Zillges), Oshkosh; great grandchildren: Sydney, Harper, Maddie, Braxton, Eli, Jordan, Marlii, Paige and Xander; two sisters, Julie (Norman) Becker, Berlin, Jane (Robinson) Butz, Cedarburg; a sister-in-law, Pat Nigbor, Waupaca. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Chmiel; her parents; and by her sister-in-law, Shirley Brownlow.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite with Rev. Gregory Sluke officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fairburn.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma is assisting the family with arrangements. www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
