Judy Lynn Benz

Judy (Oatman) Benz passed away Tuesday February 18, 2025 following a valiant effort trying to recover from surgery done on September 15, 2021. She was born October 12, 1943, in Appleton, WI to Dolore “Tony” and Una Dell (Anderson) Oatman, she graduated from Appleton High School (now West) in 1962. She was united in Marriage to John Benz at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton on June 06, 1964. Judy had been employed by Kimberly-Clark in Kimberly and Especially for You in Coloma, WI. Judy also owned and operated Benz' Boarding Kennel on Hwy 22 South of Wautoma for over 10 years while raising her family. Judy was involved in 4-H activities including being leader of the Dog Project category for several years; Judy was a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma, having been a Sunday School Teacher and Evening Guild officer. She belonged to several local groups including the "Red Hat Society" and Waushara County Homemakers organization. Judy enjoyed travelling, Wintering in Florida and/or Arizona, playing Bridge and Dominoes along with an occasional Casino trip. 

Survivors include her husband John of 60 years; daughters: Tori (Kevin) Hillstrom, Goodyear, AZ, and Amanda Benz, Phoenix, AZ; brothers: Tim (Mary) Oatman, Maple Grove, Minnesota and Brian Oatman, Appleton, Rex (Alaine) Oatman, Lake Placid, FL, Mike (Linda) Oatman, Muscoda, WI; sisters: Jill (Randy) Priebe, Appleton, Debbie (Jess) Rangle, rural Oshkosh; brother-in-law: Fred (Pat) Benz, Goodyear, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews along with many longtime true friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws: Herbert and Erna Benz; brothers: Tom & Scott Oatman; sisters: Peggy Radtke, Marsha (Bill) DeDecker, Karen Bogie and brother-in-law: Paul Benz and his wife Sharon. Visitation will be Saturday March 1st, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church, 335 W. Prairie St. Wautoma, WI from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment to occur at Appleton's Highland Memorial Park. 

The Family extends their gratitude to several dedicated ThedaCare Hospice Nurses and the compassionate care showed to Judy by Staff during her stay at Heartland House CBRF in Wautoma.
