Judith Skupas

Judith M. "Judie" Skupas, age 71, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Sunday evening, May 13, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh. She was born September 12, 1940 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Roger and Gertrude (Markert) Sharratt. She married Anthony E. "Tony" Skupas on April 29, 1961 in Fond du Lac. Judie was a 1959 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. She graduated summa cum laude from UW-Oshkosh in 1976 with a degree in nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh and then became Director of Nursing at the Oshkosh Care Center. Later, she worked for Hillhaven Corp. of Neenah where she was in charge of nursing operations for numerous care facilities. Judie was employed by Dr. Robert McDonald of Oshkosh for seven years until her retirement. She and her husband moved to Wautoma in 2001 where she enjoyed working at her son's convenience store, Skupe's Corner Store of Wautoma. Judie loved the outdoors and enjoyed staying at their cottage in northern Wisconsin. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, the Brewers, Packers, reading and Badgers. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Tony Skupas, Wautoma; two sons, Mark (Bernadine "Bernie") Skupas, Rosendale, Bradley (Michelle "Shelly") Skupas, Wautoma; two grandchildren, Kelsi and Kaelyn; one sister, Barbara Gerritson, Fond du Lac; one brother, Larry (Julie) Sharratt, Fond du Lac. She is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by one brother, James Sharratt. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
