Joyce Thompson

Joyce C. Thompson, age 89, of Wautoma, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2014 at Heartland House in Wautoma. She was born February 9, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Howard A. and Marie (Martinsen) Thompson. Joyce worked in the office for the railroad for many years. She resided in Chicago, IL before moving to Wautoma in 1989. Joyce was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma. She is survived by her birth daughter, Charlene (Roger) Stratton, Hancock, and their children: John (Peg) Stratton and their son Colin Piper, all of Carol Stream, IL; Paul (Roberta) Stratton along with their children, Jordan, Joshua and Taylor, all of Waunakee; Jennifer (Nate) Luedke and their children, Elliott and Esri, all of Ripon; one sister, Betty Foss, Mount Prospect, IL. She is further survived by nieces, other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Elaine Randall. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with the Rev. Nathan A. Gauerke officiating. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
