John F. Wetmore, age 84, of Hancock, passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 8, 2011 at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma. He was born August 4, 1927 in Hancock, the son of Franklin J. and Mary (Edge) Wetmore. He married Colleen B. Detlor on Sept. 27, 1950 in Hancock. John was a graduate of Hancock High School and later Coyne Electric School, Chicago, IL. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was the owner of Wetmore Electric of Hancock from 1950 until his retirement in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Colleen B. Wetmore, Hancock; two sons, Tom (Barbara) Wetmore, Hancock, Tim (Pat) Wetmore, Wisconsin Rapids;six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Jack) Chilsen, Phoenix, AZ., and Anona Schmudlach, Hancock. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield with Rev. Eric L. Hambrock officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Hancock Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
