GORDON JEROME MUELLER
May 29, 1931 to March 30, 2013

Gordon "Jerry" Mueller died today, at age 81, after a long, stubborn struggle with congestive heart failure. He was surrounded by family.
Dad was born May 29, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Son of George and Irene. He grew up poor and his family struggled. Dad graduated from Riverside High School, as valedictorian in 1949. He then travelled to Evanston, Illinois and Northwestern University on an academic scholarship. Dad graduated from Northwestern with a Bachelors of Business Administration and Accounting degree. Then he attended Marquette Law School. He gave up the aspiration for a legal career when he met the love of his life, Daisy Wilcox.
Jerry and Daisy met at the A&W and spent their time courting at Camp Waushara in Wautoma, WI. Mom and Dad were married in Wautoma on March 24, 1955. Jerry and Daisy moved to Wauwatosa and started a successful accounting business. In 1976 they moved back to Wautoma to John's Lake. Jerry's mother Irene then married Daisy's father Silas, which drew the family still closer.
The accounting business grew into Mueller & Mueller Accounting in 1983, with the addition of Jerry's son and daughter to the business.
Mom and Dad retired to Land O' Lakes, WI in 1998 and spent seven years together before Mom died in 2005. Then Jerry lived in Land O' Lakes until 2011, when he moved back home.
Dad sat on many church and charity committees and boards. He loved investing in real estate, walking his hounds, playing Blackjack and Poker at Watersmeet and watching old movies and musicals. His favorite actress was Sophia Loren.
There were many family gatherings at John's Lake. Hams on the spit, barrels of beer, poker and sheepshead games. Many nights were spent singing by the campfire with aunts, uncles and friends.
Dad wasn't much of a hunter, but loved hunting camp. Playing poker, telling stories and eating and drinking with all of his clients and friends at camp in Mt. Morris.
His favorite place was Birch Lake in Land O' Lakes, WI. Here he earned the nickname, "Wild Goose".
Survivors include his sons, Jeb (Jenny) Mueller, Mt. Morris, Jim (Debbie) Mueller, Fox Lake, WI; daughters, Marla (Mark) Reepsdorf, Mt. Morris, Mary (Jeff) Dassow, Mt. Morris; grandsons Jason, Brett and Tyler; granddaughters Cody and Tammy; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents George and Irene, stepfather and father-in-law Silas Wilcox, brother Dick (Marge) Mueller, brother-in-law Doc (Phyllis) Young and very many friends along the way.
Per Dad's wishes, there will not be a service or a funeral. Dad and Mom's ashes will be spread in the place they loved, with a campfire memorial, with all the children at Birch Lake.
