Jerry W. Carlton died December 26, 2012, at the Hancock, Wisconsin home where he was born, March 4, 1943. He is the son of Rudolph and Winifred (Pells) Carlton. Jerry graduated from Tri-County High School and The Art Institute of Chicago. He co-owned Brenton's Antiques in Hancock for over 40 years, served as clerk and treasurer for the Village of Hancock for 22 years, and was curator for the Adams County Historical Society. He deeply cared for his community and will be greatly missed for his knowledge of Hancock and area history. Jerry is survived by his sister, Cecilia Carlton; cousins; and his companion of 48 years, Michael Brenkus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Winifred Carlton. A memorial in Jerry's name will be established. Memorial services are planned for a later date.
