Jeffrey L. Wester, age 68, of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 22, 1942 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Ford F. and Jean E. (Larson) Wester. Jeffrey was a 1960 graduate of Webster High School and a 1965 graduate of Superior State College, where he also played football as an inside lineman. He married Dorothy S. Raduege on July 5, 1969 in Grace United Methodist Church, Webster, WI.
Jeffrey was a mathematics teacher for ten years in the Tomah and Ozaukee/Fredonia school districts. He also coached wrestling and football and was the Athletic Director at Ozaukee/Fredonia High School.
After teaching, Jeffrey became a Morning Glory Distributor for western Waushara County and the surrounding areas for 28 years. He was recently elected as Vice President of the Plainfield Library Board.
Jeffrey enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his two grandchildren, Patrick and Brianna. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy, Plainfield; one daughter Susan (Pat) Leibsle, Coloma; two grandchildren, Patrick and Brianna Leibsle, Coloma and one brother Jerry (Shirley) Wester, Little Canada, MN. He is further survived by one brother- in- law, Bill (Fran) Raduege, Woodruff; one sister-in-law, Marian (Jay) Lanigan, Superior, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other friends.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 in the United Methodist Church, Plainfield at 11:00am with Rev. David O. Leistra officiating. He will be laid to rest in Perida Cemetery in the Town of Lincoln, Webster, WI.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield and again on Friday morning at the Church from 10:00am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Plainfield Public Library and Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center are appreciated.
