Jean Ann Hoffman, age 84, of Wautoma, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, August 28, 2015 at Wild Rose Manor under the care of Agnesian Hospice.
She was born July 12, 1931 in Brooklyn, WI the daughter of Victor and Stella (Rasmussen) Peterson. She married Richard E. Hoffman on May 24, 1971 in Dubuque, Iowa.
She and her husband resided in Fort Atkinson for many years before moving to Wautoma in Dec. 2000. Jean operated the beauty salon at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Whitewater, WI. for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma where she served as trustee. Jean loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved shopping, traveling and spending the winter months in Florida and Texas. Jean and her husband enjoyed a 21 day trip to Bangkok, Thailand.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Hoffman, Wautoma; one son, Michael (Dr. Mary) Leikness, Wautoma; one daughter, Susan (Scott) Meyer, Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Judy Leikness, Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Kimberly (Matthew) Evans, Richlands, NC; Sarah (Rick) Schmitz, Neenah, Bradley (friend Lexi) Gregoire, Whitewater, Jakob Meyer, Eau Claire, Nick (Crystal) Leikness, Fort Atkinson; great grandchildren, Madeline "Maddie" and Eliott "Eli" Schmitz, Garrett and April Leikness. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger D. Leikness; her parents; her stepfather, Elmer Matson; two brothers, Kenneth (Gertrude) Peterson, Curtis (Cora) Peterson; one sister, Phyllis (Mike) Holden; daughter-in-law, June M. Leikness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma with the Rev. Domnik Israel officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial is being established.
