Janet passed away peacefully November 17, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born March 17, 1939 in Pierce County to George and Agnes (Schorn) Thoen. She was married to Donald C. Rovney. She loved gardening, card playing and being with family. She was very involved in family genealogy.
Janet is survived by 4 children, Kathy Anderson, Lori McCloud, Susan (Joe) Siegel and Donald "Bud" Rovney (Wautoma). 4 brothers, George (Tootie) Thoen, Jr. (Ellsworth), David (Karen) Thoen (Ellsworth), Thomas (Barb) Thoen (Prescott), Mike Thoen (Menominee). 2 sisters, Diane Miller (Stillwater, MN) and LeeAnn (Donald) Sorenson (Altoona). Sister-in-law Cecile Thoen (Osceola), Brother-in-law Del (Faith) Looman (Zeeland,MI). 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye, and many nieces and nephews. All the cherished and unforgettable friends that have touched Janet's life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Shelly Rovney, sisters; Sharon (Merle) Foss and Gwen Looman. Brothers Ron and Darwin Thoen. Sister-in-law Mary Thoen.
Thank you to the amazing crew, including her Aurora dialysis nurses, doctors, drivers and others who helped care for Janet in her last years of life.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Homestead of Janet Rovney.
Her final place of rest is at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, Wisconsin.
