James “Wheels” A. Weiland age 79, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 1, 2024 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh.
He was born January 11, 1944, in Berlin the son of Arnold and Adela (Otto) Weiland. Wheels was a graduate of Wautoma High School. In his early years, he drove a beer truck in the Oshkosh area. Later, he worked as a bartender at Billy B’s in Wautoma for many years until his retirement. Wheels will be fondly remembered by his many friends for his kind and friendly nature. He enjoyed golfing and participated numerous golf outings.
He is survived by one sister, Karen Wenzel, Oshkosh; one nephew, Geoffrey (Jackie) Borree, New Port Richey, Florida; one niece, Rachel (Paul) Dillon, Watertown; twin grandnephews, Blake and Thompson Borree. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Wheels was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy; his brother-in-law, Douglas Wenzel; and by his longtime friend, Donald “Don” Simonson.
A Celebration of Wheels life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Billy B’s in Wautoma. He will be laid to rest privately in the family plot at Richford Cemetery.
