James Raatz

James D. Raatz, age 77, of Richford, passed away Sunday evening, May 15, 2011, at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point. He was born July 17, 1933 in Wautoma, the son of Richard and Lauraine (Sauerbrei) Raatz. James served his country in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He farmed in the Town of Richford for many years. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, polka dancing, and driving his collector car. He is survived by one daughter, Tami (Rick) Margerison, Naples, Florida; his mother, Lauraine Raatz, Berlin; three grandchildren, Christian, Corbin, and Delaney French; three sisters, Jean Johannes, Oshkosh, Janice Dumonson, Woodruff, Judith (Gary) Oleson, Reno, NV; three brothers, Jerry Raatz, North Fort Meyers, FL, William (Shari) Raatz, Edgar, and Thomas Raatz, Redgranite; his special friend, Luella Owen, Oshkosh. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Raatz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richford Community Center with Rev. Eric L. Hambrock officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Richford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Richford Community Center from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
