James J. “Jim” Konczal, age 77, of Wautoma passed away Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018.
He was born June 22, 1940 in Wauwatosa, the son of Andrew and Mary (Soltis) Konczal. He married Geraldine M. “Jerri” Timerson on June 25, 1960 in Milwaukee.
Jim was a graduate of Pulaski High School in Milwaukee and received his Business Degree from UW-Milwaukee. He was employed at AC Spark Plug of Oak Creek before becoming Maintenance Manager at Inland Steel in Milwaukee and later in Kentucky. Jim retired as Operations Manager for the Port of Milwaukee after 15 years of service. He enjoyed model trains, photography and videography along with gardening and tending to his flowers but most of all he enjoyed his family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine “Jerri” Konczal, Wautoma; four children, Cheryl (Glenn) Stepniewski, Karen (Scott) Giles, Kenneth (Cheryl) Konczal, and James Konczal; 12 grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Stepniewski, Matthew (Brooke) Stepniewski, Megan Stepniewski, Michelle Stepniewski, Brittney (Scott) Knight, Melissa (Andrew) Oxford, Jessica Giles, Katelynn, Kristen, Kelli, Savana, and Joshua Konczal; two great grandchildren, Adalynn Oxford and Christopher Knight. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David F. Greskowiak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
