James Dredske

April 26, 1937 — December 5, 2011

James W. Dredske, age 74, of Wautoma, died Monday evening, Dec. 5, 2011 at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born April 26, 1937 in Berlin, the son of Alvin and Barbara (Mayhew) Dredske. Jim attended a one room school house in Spring Lake and then continued his education in Wautoma. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey Hornig on August 28, 1954 at West Holden Lutheran Church.
Jim worked for Speed Queen in Wautoma until 1975. He retired from Rockwell International of Oshkosh in 1997. Jim operated the family business, Dredske's Garage of Wautoma with his father "Gramps" for many years. During his retirement, he restored his 1948 Ford pick-up along with vintage wheel horse tractors. Jim was very proud of his children and grandchildren, whom he loved hunting and fishing with, as well as attending their musical and sporting events. Jim had a special bond with his daughter who donated her kidney to him in 2009.
He had been a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma for 50 years. Jim had five sons and one daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Dredske, Wautoma; four children, Richard, Palatine, IL., Douglas (Julee), Pardeeville, David, Wautoma, and Kris (Michael Schmidt), New London; eight grandchildren, Dallas, T.J. (April), Justin, Jacob, Zachary, Jessica, Logan, and Brooke; two great grandchildren, Abby and Drake; a sister-in-law, Jean (Allen) Zietlow; two brothers-in-law, John
(Janeth) Hornig and Kenneth (Gail) Hornig. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends especially Kathy Griffin, Mary (Delbert) Bohn and family, Linda (Jerry) Domminik
and family.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Dredske and James Dredske Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Wendy; two nephews, Jeffery and Jason Hornig; his parents; and by his in-laws, Marvin and Ann
Hornig.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with the Rev. Nathan A. Gauerke officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall.
