James E. Bleskey, age 86, of Wautoma, passed away suddenly Friday morning, November 21, 2014 at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1928 in Amherst, the son of August and Alice (Hebblewhite) Bleskey. He married the former Lucille (Doan) Lietz on September 24, 1949 in Wautoma, She preceded him in death on January 3, 1981. He married Charlotte M. Disterhaft on May 27, 1983 in Berlin. She survives.
Jim farmed for 62 years in the town of Wautoma. He was employed by the Waushara County Highway Dept. for over 26 years until his retirement in 1991. Jim was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma, Sacred Heart Council 6228 Knights of Columbus and Knights of Columbus Chain O'Lakes Assemble 1862 of Waupaca. He was a member and past director of the Waushara County Farm Bureau and Wautoma Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Bleskey, Wautoma; two sisters, Ruth Allen, King, WI, Jane Madsen, Mauston; three brothers, David (Kathy) Bleskey, Amherst, Martin Bleskey, Concord, CA, and Richard Bleskey, King, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Jim was as preceded in death by his parents, and by two sisters-in-law and
two brothers-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Wednesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A parish prayer service will be recited at 6:45 p.m.
