Ione Schmidt

Ione Schmidt, age 85, of Wautoma, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 at Wild Rose Manor, where she had resided for several years.
She was born July 6, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Peter and Emma (Landmann) Stark. She married Arnold L. Schmidt on September 24, 1955 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2009.
Ione was a homemaker for most of her life and took great pride in raising her family. She enjoyed playing solitaire, dominoes, Bingo, watching sitcoms on television and working on crossword puzzles.
He is survived by her children Keith (Deann) Schmidt, Milwaukee; Paul Schmidt, Milwaukee; Ned Schmidt, Wautoma and Pete Schmidt, Milwaukee; granddaughters, Carrie and Sarah Schmidt; great-grandchildren Cody and Corey Schmidt; his nephews, John and Sam Wagner; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson Andrew Schmidt, one great-grandson, James Olson.
Funeral Services for Ione will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11:00am in the Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma with Rev. Eric Hambrock officiating. She will be laid to rest in Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, from 10:00am until the time of services at the funeral home.
