Hildegarde Abbott

Hildegarde M. "Hilda" Abbott, age 100, formerly of Almond and Wautoma, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.

She was born May 29, 1911 in Berlin, the daughter of Albert F. and Lola (Kelley) George. She married Milton H. Abbott on Feb. 20, 1932 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2002. Hilda and her late husband resided in Almond for many years before moving to Wautoma. She worked at the Almond Post Office for 25 years. Hilda was a member of the United Methodist Church, Almond and the Royal Neighbors. She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Elizabeth) Abbott, Fremont, Robert (Betty) Abbott, Plover; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other

relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lola (Robert) Bestul, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Almond United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Leistra officiating. Burial will be in Spiritland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until

the time of services.
