Hilda Harke

April 20, 1921 — January 21, 2010

Hilda H. Harke, age 88, of Wautoma, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 21, 2010 at Heartland House CBRF, where she had resided for just over one year. She was born April 20, 1921 in the Town of Harris, Marquette County, the daughter of Gust and Esther (Klawitter) Persack. She married Arthur H. Harke on June 28, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Parsonage in Harrisville. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2000. Hilda was a homemaker and had been employed by Green Bay Food Co. of Wautoma as a check writer for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Hilda was also a past member of Waushara- Wautoma Senior Citizens and the Wautoma Chapter of A.A.R.P. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Arthur; one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Russell Windus; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and LaVerne Persack; a cousin, Halley Kuenn. She was also preceded in death by Art's family, Julius and Minnie (Hessler) Harke, Ernest Harke, Bernard and Grace Harke, Clarence Harke, Laurence and Adeline Armga. Hilda is survived by one daughter, Karen K. Harke, Wautoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine (a resident of Montello Care Center) and Jack Kruger, Westfield; one cousin, Eugene (Connie) Klawitter, Poynette, one sister-in-law, Evelyn Harke, Wautoma; nieces, Bonnie Capes, Shelvy Ritter, Denise Labrenz, Waverly Windus, Patty Magee, and Sandra Armga; nephews, Kelly Windus, Thomas Persack, Michael Persack, Mark Kruger, and Norlen Harke. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma with the Rev. Gregory D. Hyatt officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff at Heartland House CBRF in Wautoma for all the care, compassion and support shown to Hilda.
