Herold Dehling

June 16, 1932 — September 19, 2012

Herold G. "Jerry" Dehling, age 80, of Wautoma, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 19, 2012 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
He was born in the Town of Richford, Waushara County, on June 16, 1932, the son of Gaylord and Leona (Mischka) Dehling. He married Julie A. Thurley on March 3, 1951 at Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1996. He later married Irene Ward on June 25, 1999 in Wautoma.
Jerry served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he was stationed in Iceland. He worked for many years at Senior Engineering in Berlin and retired as Chief Inspector. Jerry was actively involved in the community and was a long-time member of the Waushara Country Club where he was a Former Club Champion and he was a life-long member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He also was a member of the Berlin Chapman Old Timers Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Irene Dehling; his three sons, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Dehling, John (Staci) Dehling, Jay (Kerri) Dehling; one daughter, Jan (Jeff) Krebs; seven step-children, Sandra (Bob) Dolan, Richard (Bobbi) Zickert, Shelley (John) Wells, Sheryl (Tom) Holzhueter, Layton Zickert, Tim (Dawn) Zickert and Sharon (Gary) Wilson; his grandchildren, Marissa (Jim), Sarah (Tim), Nick (Ashley), Jacob (Sara), Angela (Zach), Alex, Quay, Catelynn, Sydnee, Robyn, Kaytlyn, Emily, Tyler and John; 23 step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 28 step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Brenda (Lee) Kessler, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sonia (John) Siegel, Ronald (Gail) Thurley and Sheila (Francis) Russo, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and his first wife Julie, he was preceded in death by one infant son Gerald and one sister and brother in infancy.
Funeral Services for Herold G. "Jerry" Dehling will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma with Rev. Roger Riedel officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in Richford Cemetery, Town of Richford.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Church.
