Helen Wahlen

Helen Dorothy Wahlen, age 89 of Adams, died on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Moundview Hospital, Friendship. She was born on May 31, 1924 in Coloma to William and Ida (Fausch) Hoffman. Helen then moved to Milwaukee where she met John C. Wahlen and were married on March 1, 1946 in Milwaukee. The couple raised their family in Milwaukee and then retired back in the Coloma area. Helen enjoyed cross stich and needle point, bingo and gambling and gardening in her early years. She was a very active member at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma. Helen especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.



Helen is survived by her two sons: William (Marlene) Wahlen, Mark (Laura) Wahlen; daughter-in-law: Barbara Wahlen; grandchildren: Tricia, Jason, Andrew (Maggie), Amber (Lee), Kevin (Aubrey), James, Jeanne (Josh), Eric (Amanda); great grandchildren: Cole, Blaine, Camryn, Kaden, Brody, Natalie, Mikey, Brooke, Elizabeth, Alyssa, Max; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: John C. Wahlen; son: Mike Wahlen; two brothers and three sisters.



Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Robert Hanson with burial to follow in Prince of Peace Cemetery, Coloma. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Wednesday from 9AM until the time of service at 11AM.
