Heidi (Engelmann) Shelton, age 34, went home to be with Jesus on December 12, 2011. She passed away unexpectedly. She was born August 6, 1977 in Waukegan, IL to George and Peggy (Grom) Engelmann and was much loved by all who knew her.
Her family moved to rural Hancock in 1986. Heidi was a 1995 graduate of Tri-County High School in Plainfield where she enjoyed many friendships, most importantly her best friend Mariah (VanBever) Goodwin. She enjoyed archery hunting in high school and harvested her first deer at age 15. Heidi was involved in band, chorus and school musicals. She moved to Tennessee in 1997 and married Jeremy Shelton in 2000. During her time in Tennessee she became a mother to two wonderful children, Kylee and Zach. She made many friends during her thirteen years in Tennessee. Heidi returned home to Hancock in 2010. Heidi will be remembered for her wonderful personality and helpful nature. She loved reading, writing, cooking, and hunting and fishing with her dad. She especially enjoyed her jobs, most recently her time at the Hancock Mini Mart. She is survived by her parents, George and Peggy Engelmann, rural Hancock; her husband, Jeremy Shelton; two children, Kylee Christine and Zachary Jeremiah, of TN; two brothers, Georg Engelmann, TX, James (Annette) Engelmann, FL; two sisters, Georgine (Robert) Wood, DePere, Elisabeth (James) McKee, TX. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her paternal grandmother, Maria Yantz, FL. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Assembly of God in Plainfield with Pastor Howard Kruize officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
