Harvard H. Erdman - The Maestro

Harvard Henry Erdman, 89, formerly of Wautoma passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Berlin Hospital.
He was born March 28, 1922 in Waupun, WI to Freida and Edgar Erdman. He married Vivian Zeinert on August 31, 1946.
He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma and served as the choir director for many years.
He was a band director at Wautoma High School for 38 years. His bands never received anything less than a first-place in competitions. He played with the Jack Opie and Larry Woodbury dance bands in the 1940s, '50s, and '60s and with the Wisconsin Dutchmen in the 1960s and '70s. He was a member of the Packer Band for 20 years and never missed a game.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vivian Erdman; four children - Sandi (Ken) Tennessen, Allie (Vicki) Erdman, Debbie (Larry) Quarford, and Donna (Ron) Berg; eight grandchildren - Jeff (Angela) Tennessen, Greg Tennessen, Stacey (Richard) Mitchell, Amy (Chris) Hionis, Kati Quarford, Kristal Quarford, Alan Berg, Roni (Ken) Bull; nine great-grandchildren - Riley Tennessen; Naomi, Noah, Nathanael, and Naarah Hionis; Jonathan and Jansen Mitchell; Wessyn Soderbloom; Hans Bull.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte.
The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma assisted the family with arrangements. Private family services will be held.
