Gregory "Greg" E. Olson, 75, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
He was born on January 9, 1950, in Berlin, Wisconsin, the son of Walter B. and Dorothy E. (Button) Olson. On October 2, 1976, he married Janet Grimaldi, who preceded him in death on March 27, 2014.
Greg was a 1968 graduate of Wautoma High School, where he excelled as a catcher on the baseball team. He attended Bryant & Stratton Business College in Milwaukee and later earned a bachelor’s degree from Detroit Business College. Throughout his career, he worked as a chief financial officer for several manufacturing firms in Michigan. During that time, he also owned and operated Croton Dam Float Trips in Croton, Michigan.
Greg enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. In addition, Greg had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the cabin—whether gathered around the campfire, riding around the property, or searching for deer. Above all, he cherished time with his family, friends, and his beloved canine companion, Abbi.
He is survived by his two children, Heidi (Kevin) Braden of Oxford and Scott (Kimberly) Olson of Dripping Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Nathan, Grace, Addison, and Elise; and two sisters, Colleen (Chet) Olson-Vier of Jefferson, Georgia, and Kay (Jim) Zelienka of Coloma. He is further survived by extended family and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his dog, Badger.
Private family services will be held. The Leikness Funeral Home of Wautoma is assisting the family with arrangements. For condolences, please visit www.leiknessfuneralhome.com.
