Gladys Lovejoy

Gladys K. Lovejoy, age 85, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday evening, June 11, 2013 in Lakeshore Manor, Oshkosh.
She was born in Milwaukee on July 11, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Vranek) Carpenter.
Gladys was a spirited woman who enjoyed taking many trips and also loved Nascar races as well as all short track local races. This love of racing lead to a friendship with the late racer Dick Trickle. She worked for many years at Realist in Berlin and as a waitress in Wautoma. Gladys loved going out to eat, cooking and baking. During the summer, she loved working in the yard and planting many beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis and seeing him in person. While residing at Lakeshore Manor she would be entertained by an Elvis impersonator that would sing to her. Gladys had a love of collecting things and treasured the many teddy bears she got over the years. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Gladys is survived by the love of her life since 1967, Marlin Souzek; her children, Bill (Laura) Lovejoy; Bonnie (Gordon) Ducas and Patti (Larry) Christie; four grandchildren, Robby (Jackie) Lord, Jason Christie, Jenny Christie (Dwight) and Tim Lovejoy; four great-grandchildren Brittany, Hailey, Rhylee and Kailey and one great-great grandchild Jazlyn.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, two brothers Richard and Roger Carpenter and one grandson Billy Joe.
A Time of Sharing and Remembrance will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma. She will be laid to rest in Wautoma Union Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
