Genevieve "Gene" A. Carollo

Genevieve Carollo, born Genevieve Agnes Karwatka in Milwaukee, WI, on December 21, 1940, to parents Walter and Genevieve Karwatka, left this world on October 19, 2023, at her home in Milwaukee. She was 82 years old.

Gene married James Carollo on May 9, 1987, in Milwaukee, and they shared a loving partnership until his passing in 2013.

Throughout her life, Gene was known for her charm and strong work ethic. She spent years working in retail at the former east side Smartwear and T.A. Chapman stores and dedicated 24 years of her life to the former Grand Ave. Boston Store.

One of Gene’s greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and friends, and her beloved dog, Bootzie, was always by her side to offer comfort and companionship.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous cherished friends, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Gene had a passion for travel and enjoyed exploring new places with her husband, Jim. She had a special love for the holiday season, especially Christmas, and was well-known for her fabulous annual Halloween party, where she created countless cherished memories with her loved ones.

She will be remembered for her kind spirit, warm heart, and outgoing presence. Her legacy of love and joy will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.

The family will be holding a funeral service to celebrate Gene’s life on Saturday, October 28, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church, N3388 State Road 152 Wautoma, WI with Vicar Amy Penza officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembering and honoring the wonderful person she was and the legacy that she left.
