Francis M. Verburgt, age 82, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born February 24, 1929 in Milwaukee, the son of John and Theresa (Smith) Verburgt Sr. He married Edith B. Fleener on January 17, 1952 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2009.
Mr. Verburgt served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a mason foreman for the Hunzinger Construction Company of Milwaukee for many years.
He is survived by his five children, Judy Delisle, Greendale, Kathleen (Ken Tischer) Garland, South Milwaukee, John Verburgt, South Milwaukee, Pete Verburgt, South Milwaukee, Michael (Ramona) Verburgt, Muskego; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ruth Larschied, John (Ruth) Verburgt Jr., June (Richard) Tackes,
Daniel (JoAnn) Verburgt, Donald (Vera) Verburgt, Marguerite (Richard) Crook; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Frank Verburgt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma with the Rev. Robert L. Stegmann officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Leikness Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.
