Evelyn A. Romens, age 99, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday evening, August 4, 2015, at Wild Rose Manor.
She was born September 25, 1915 in Athens, WI, the daughter of William and Alvina (Riedel) Rinehart. She married Woodrow Romens on April 25, 1937 in Medford. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1985.
She and her late husband farmed for many years in Unity, WI. They moved to Wautoma in 1976. Evelyn enjoyed painting, gardening, crocheting, quilting, and cooking. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. She is survived by eight children, Delores (Jerry) Jolitz, Ripon, Audrey (the late Jim) Oertel, Wautoma, Joanne (the late Vince) Marean, Canon City, CO, Norbert (Jeanne) Romens, Amherst, David (Joan) Romens, Mukwonago, Shirley (Ken) Koch, Abbotsford, Rodney (Debbie) Romens, Dorchester, and Reed (Geri) Romens, Pittsville; one sister, Blanche (Ray) Tolzman, Viroqua. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren. Evelyn is also survived by Carole Romens, Karen Romens, Leroy Taylor, Dan Bolander, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four daughters, Ellen Taylor, Janet Potter, Darlene Bolander, Beverly Wolski; two sons, Duane Romens and Leon Romens.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Brian Rohde officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
