Evelyn J. Raak, age 82, of Plainfield, passed away Friday evening, May 20, 2011 at her home with family at her side.
She was born September 15, 1928 in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph C. and Josephine M. (Riepsa) Basile. She married Raymond Raak on September 2, 1950 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2001.
Evelyn was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainfield.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Len) Leverence, Oshkosh, Tom (Elizabeth) Raak, Joliet, IL., Tim (Sandy) Raak, Berthoud, CO., Christine (Raak) Kancler, Stevens Point; grandchildren, Aaron Leverence, Jennifer, Daniel and Renee Raak, Katherine (John) Lombardo; great grandchildren, Vinnie and Johnny Lombardo; her furry companion Joey; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James J. Basile, Sr.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with the Rev. Paul Lippert officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home, www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com
