Esther C. Wandrey, age 91, of Wautoma passed away Thursday morning, August 4, 2011, at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.
She was born May 31, 1920 in the Town of Oasis, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Pagel) Helmrick. She married Elmer E. Wandrey on March 21, 1942 in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1989.
Esther and her late husband farmed for many years in the Town of Dakota. She served as Treasurer for the Town of Dakota and the Waushara County Fair Association. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma.
She is survived by one daughter, Lois (David) Bartel, Wautoma; one son, Dale (Vicki) Wandrey, Wautoma; grandchildren, Aaron (Amy) Bohn, Wautoma, Brian (Lea Ann) Bohn, Galesville, Daron Bohn (friend, Adrienne Smith), Appleton, Ryan Bohn, Plover, Rhea (Bill) Rosenau, Wautoma, and Grant (Melissa) Wandrey, Wautoma; great grandchildren, Barret and BriAnn Bohn, Galesville, Megan and DJ Paeth, Wautoma; special nephews, Richard (Mary Lou) Putskey, LaCrosse, Lawrence (Betty) Timm, Plainfield, Bill (Wendy ) Wandrey, Wautoma. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;one grandson, Alan Bohn; two brothers, Walter Helmrick and Arnold Helmrick; two sisters, Martha Timm and Edith Putskey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Chaplain Pam Werth officiating. Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery
in Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and at the Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
