Esther M. Lutz, age 90, a resident at Heartland House, Wautoma, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
Esther was born on May 19, 1922 in Chicago, IL to William and Ida (Piske) Wigand. She graduated from high school in Chicago and on November 28, 1942 she married Adolf "Ad" E. Lutz. The couple resided in the Skokie, IL area until 1943 when they started to spend their summers on Silver Lake in the Blue and White Cottage. In 1974 after Ad's retirement, the couple moved to the cottage and wintered in Treasure Island, FL. Family was very important to Esther and she loved Silver Lake. She always considered Wautoma... ... Esther is survived by her children: Linda (Bob) Glenn, Garry (Toni) Lutz, Laurie (Don) Lutz-Slechta; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Adolf "Ad" E. Lutz; grandson: Derek Lutz; great grandson: David Brathwaite and sister: Verna Trost.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Edward Trost with burial to follow in Wautoma Union Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Monday from 9:30AM until the time of service at 11AM.
