Elizabeth Olk "Betsy" Borchardt

Elizabeth Olk “Betsy” Borchardt, age 71, of Wautoma, died unexpectedly Monday, January 27, 2025 at her home.

 She was born June 5, 1953 in Clintonville, the daughter of James H. and Bernice H. (Durben) Olk. She married Andrew P. “Andy” Borchardt on December 27, 1980 at St. Norbert Catholic Church in DePere.

 Betsy was a graduate of Clintonville High School and St. Norbert College in DePere, receiving a BA degree in Psychology. She was an author (The Castings of Crowns), an artist (having her art displayed internationally, and won several state exhibit awards) and a poet. She was employed as a home health caregiver for many years. She was a devoted member of the Wautoma Seventh-Day Adventist Church, (teaching adult Sabbath school, Secretary, and participating in Women’s Study group, and Choir). Betsy will be deeply missed by her loving family, church family, and dear friends.

 She is survived by her husband, Andrew P. “Andy” Borchardt, Wautoma; four brothers: Frederick Olk, Des Plaines, IL, Steven Olk, Appleton, Douglas (Marilyn) Olk, Madison, William Olk, Clintonville; two sisters-in-law: Carol Shoults, Crystal River, FL, Linda (Robert) Holthaus, Beverly Hills, FL; two brothers-in-law: Frederick Borchardt, Appleton, Ronald (Joan) Borchardt, Omro. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betsy is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Gary Shoults; sister-in-law, Mary Borchardt.

 Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Fox Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 265 South Green Bay Road, Neenah, WI 54956 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Rushford Cemetery, Town of Rushford, Winnebago County at a later date.
