Eleanor Young

Eleanor P. Young, age 89, formerly of Hancock, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at Fountain View Care Center, Ripon. She was born March 4, 1921 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of John and Martha (Budura) Stance. She married Clifford J. Young on May 8, 1937 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2002. Eleanor and her late husband moved to Hancock in 1988. She loved being with her family, and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing and going to the casino. She is survived by five children, Thomas (Adeline "Addie") Young, Indiana, Darlene Young, Omro, Bonnie Young, Coloma, Becky (Jerry) Bailey, Cary, IL., Rick Young, Omro; six grandchildren, Bob, Laura, Johnny, Peggy, Tommy, and Christine; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, Summer Nicole. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Angela; and by a great-granddaughter, Amber; three brothers, Eugene, Tom, Jesse; two sisters, Katherine and Nettie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Sister Mary Ellen Doherty of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Hancock Cemetery.Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Fountain View Care Center and the friendship of the residents shown to Eleanor.
