Eleanor M. Grunert, age 92, of Wautoma, passed away early Thursday morning, September 16, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Milwaukee, on July 13, 1918, the daughter of Rudolph and Ida (Panietz) Klump. She married Emmett Scharp in November of 1939. He preceded her in death in 1953. She later married Albert F. Grunert on December 21, 1957 in Milwaukee.
Eleanor lived in Milwaukee for many years until moving to Wautoma in 1993. She was a lifetime member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Bayview and a faithful member at Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma. Eleanor was also very active in the Waushara/Wautoma Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed cooking and doing crafts as well as travelling throughout the United States on 3 day weekends with her husband. She was a wonderful mother, wife and friend and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Albert F. Grunert, Wautoma; three children, Douglas (Dianne) Scharp, Bluffton, SC, Joyce (Ernest) Chabot, Bethesda, MD, and Michael (Terrie) Grunert, Waukesha; five grandchildren, Paul (Alexandra) Scharp, Justin, Stephanie, James and Allen Grunert. She is further survived by one brother, Kenneth (Shirley) Klump, South Milwaukee and one sister-in-law Elinor Klump; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey Klump and one sister, Dorothy Schwitchenberg.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Eleanor Grunert will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00pm in Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma with Rev. Roger Riedel officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00am until the time of services at the Church.
Memorials to Peace Lutheran Church and the Waushara/Wautoma Senior Citizens Center are appreciated.
