Eileen P. Christensen, age 91, of Wautoma, passed away Sunday evening, December 19, 2021 at Bethany Pines in Waupaca.
She was born March 25, 1930 in the township of Deerfield, the daughter of Harrison E. and Isabella R. (Riggle) Hartford. She married Willard G. Christensen on June 2, 1951 in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2012
Eileen was a graduate of Wautoma High School and Waushara County Normal School. Later, she attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from UW-Stevens Point. Eileen taught at Mountain View School and Redgranite School before teaching at Dafoe School in Wautoma for many years until her retirement.
She was a faithful longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma she served as Church Librarian and belonged to the Altar Guild. Each summer and fall she and her late husband loved traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters: Sherri (Dale) Attoe, Poy Sippi, Mary (Gary) Detlor, Hancock, Julie Eileen Nothstine (Jack Fischer), Green Bay; eight grandchildren: Sarah Attoe, Nicholas (Tina) Attoe, Nathan (Emily) Detlor, Megan (Bryan) Meyer, Amanda (Tyler) Person, Thor Nothstine (Amanda Wolske), Max Nothstine (Breanna Reed), Isabella Eileen (Adam) Tomcheck; 10 great grandchildren: Blake, Calvin, Henry, Ivan, Grace, Bryson, Maci, Trenton, Lydia, and Nora Eileen; two sisters-in-law: Polly Hartford, Wautoma, Barbara Hartford, Hancock. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Marguerite (John) Thompson, Della (Clifford) Olson, Rose (Richard) Bruene, Joanne Dunn; seven brothers: Harland (Arlene) Hartford, Frank (Irene) Hartford, Delbert (Dorla) Hartford, Robert Hartford, Keith (Geraldine “Gerry”) Hartford, Vernon Hartford, and her infant brother Darwin; her son-in-law, Craig Nothstine; brother-in-law, James Kearns.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Paul Michael Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
