Dorothy L. Wallner, age 84, of Plainfield, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.
She was born May 22, 1928 in West Allis, the daughter of the Rev. Earl and Rev. Marion (Dumbleton) Johnson. Dorothy married Donald D. Wallner on March 12, 1950 in the United Methodist Church, Plainfield.
Dorothy worked outside of the home throughout her life. She was involved with many community groups and spent her free time painting. Dorothy especially enjoyed meeting with the Monday Morning Ladies Group and the Popcorn Girls.
She is survived by her husband, Donald D. Wallner, Plainfield. Together they raised five children, Warren (Lia) Wallner, Bancroft, Donna (Jim) Potter, Washburn, the late Duane (Joan G.) Wallner, Plainfield, Joan (Bob) Sullivan, Hancock, William (Sharon) Wallner, Ripon. She is a proud grandma of Brian (Friday) Wallner, Al (Kim) Romo, Lisa Sullivan, Tori (Scott) Pudil, Lenny Sullivan, the late Benjamin Potter, Bobbie Jo Sullivan, Duane Potter, Chris Wallner, A.J. Wallner, Jacob Wallner, Daniel Wallner, and Maggie Wallner; great grandmother to Cody (Brittany) Bennett, Justin Ida, Emma Wallner, Gregory Ida, Hayden Wallner, Evelyn Potter, and Aria Wallner; great-great grandmother to Ciara Bennett. Dorothy is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold, a son Duane and a grandson Benjamin.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery at a later date.
