Donna M. Hansen

Donna (Buschart) Hansen age 95 died on January 22, 2024.

She was born in Des Plaines, IL to Joseph and Mabel (Kerwin) Buschart and lived on Narragansett Ave, Chicago ,IL.  She graduated from Steinmetz High School.  She met Dad when she was 15 while at the roller-skating rink. He went into the military in 1944 and was stationed in Texas.  After many love letters, they married and lived upstairs of her parent’s house and had 3 children while building a home in Medinah, IL and then had another child.  Donna was a housewife and had many other multiple jobs.

While living there they enjoyed gardening, planting trees and hanging laundry on the line. They started vacationing at “Krause’s Kozy Kottages” in 1948. In May 1975 their dream came true, and they bought the resort. They renamed the resort Happy Days after the tv show.  Happy Days became their life. We have all met many great friends because of it.

Donna is survived by Don Jr. (Terri), Dan (Karen), Sue (Russ Clark Sr.), Grandchildren Wendy, Victoria, Derek (Rachel), Ashley (Jonathan Frazier), Russ Jr., Corie (Derek Meyer), Great grandchildren Charity, Lyndi, Owen, Emma Jean, Cooper, Jack, niece Karen.

Preceded in death by husband Don Sr., son Dave, Grandsons, Donny III, Kyle, Sister and brother-in-law Rose and Ray Hartje, niece Ruthanne.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Deacon Pam Werth officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Coloma.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Donna's memory,
