Donald Jerome Schnabl, age 81, of Neshkoro, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at his residence.
He was born November 8, 1932 in Milwaukee, the son of Alfred and Florence (Ankowiak) Schnabl. He married Phyllis Sommers on January 9, 1954 in Milwaukee.
Don served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He was employed as a cabinet maker for Milwaukee Public Schools
for many years until his retirement. He was a member Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma and the Waushara/Wautoma Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Schnabl, Neshkoro; four children, Robert (Julie) Schnabl, Menomonee Falls, Dorene (Tim) Gielow, Horicon, Donna (Mark) Keihl, Milwaukee, Kurt (Debra) Schnabl, Random Lake; 10 grandchildren; Jason Oertel, Jacob Oertel, Jaime (Dave) Hammond, Michele Oertel, Nicole Oertel, Crystal Schnabl, Jessica Schnabl, Katie Schnabl, Aaron Keihl, April (Ryan) Bruss; 11 great grandchildren, Logan, Colton, Carter, Meghyn, Matthew, Michael, Wyatt, Ethan, Landon, Alex, and Ashley; one brother, Dennis (Lucille) Schnabl, Milwaukee. He is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his grandson, Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. in Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Roger Riedel officiating. Military honors will follow. Burial will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. A memorial is being established.
