Donald Duane Simonson, age 71 of Wautoma died on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Heartland House, Wautoma. He was born on October 10, 1951 in Berlin to Charles and Doris (Gunderson) Simonson. Over the years, Don worked in the Engineering Department in Wisconsin Rapids for the Wisconsin DOT; Consolidated Paper Mill in Biron; Jaxco Glove Company in Wautoma; Campbell Tree & Land Company Wautoma; Cummins Filtration in Wautoma; and Billy B’s Salvage in Wautoma. Don was a volunteer for many years at the Waushara County Historical Museum.
Over the years Donald enjoyed participating in golf outings, pool leagues, horseshoes, playing cribbage, doing crossword puzzles, and working with his model trains. He enjoyed reading and listening to his music collection.
Don is survived by his parents: Charles and Doris Simonson; brothers: Dale (Deborah) Simonson, Glen Simonson, Clyde (Barb) Simonson; a niece; three nephews; longtime friend: James “Wheels” Weiland; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Leikness Funeral Home from 12:30PM to 2PM followed by gathering at Billy B’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Donald’s name to the Waushara County Historical Museum.
