Diane J. Flick, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Stevens Point Health Services.
She was born January 31, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Jessie (White) Wilk.
Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the center of her family that she held together with her love, strength, and dedication. Diane worked for over 35 years in various positions at Lab Tek/Miles Laboratories/Nunc, retiring as a Marketing & Graphic Design Specialist which was a position well-suited to her creative abilities. Diane’s passion was creating art through drawing and sketching with ink, charcoal, and pencil, painting requested characters on shirts for her children and grandchildren, to ceramics, cross-stitching, and other crafts. She loved working in her flower gardens, getting dirty was a favorite pastime. Over the years Diane enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, reading, and always family time. She never shied away from physical work and on occasion was asked to show off her guns (biceps)! Family and friends would describe Diane as a nurturer, showing kindness and caring even to strangers; giving, opening her home to several people during her life who needed a place to stay; an independent woman before it was accepted; funny, stubborn and beautiful, and some might say sometimes a handful.
Diane will be dearly missed, having touched so many people who will keep her memory alive.
She is survived by three children; Jodee L. Steger, DeKalb, Illinois; John W. Flick, Blue Island, Illinois; Jeanine (Dave) Keenlance, Wautoma, Wisconsin; life-long friend, Sonia Lingner (Tom), Downers Grove, Illinois; six grandchildren; Rabecca Steger, Jessica (Craig) Thompson, Aleea Flick, Jake Keenlance, David (Maddy) Keenlance, Nathan Keenlance; and six great grandchildren; Josalyn, CamRon, Ciara, Olivia, Kylee, Kaiden. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Diane is preceded in death by her daughter, Jannice L. Flick; her parents; one sister, Ann LaBine; two nieces, Julie Ann and Robin; son-in-law, Ronnie Steger; dear friend, Margie Garcia; and former husband, John Flick.
