Diane Lynn Biesek, age 67 of Wautoma, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 with her three children by her side. She was born on January 20, 1954 to James and Theresa Konieczki. She grew up in Wautoma, where she made it her lifetime home after attending UW Oshkosh to earn her degree in education. On June 10, 1978 she married Bernard Biesek and loved being his bride for 41 years. “Mrs. B” was dedicated to her career as a special education teacher and transition coordinator, spending 39 years making a difference in the future of students at Tri-County School. She was recognized with numerous teaching honors including the Senator Herb Kohl Teacher Fellowship and the Golden Apple Award. She had a passion for helping people and truly had a giving nature. Her children and grandchildren were her heart and she really only retired in order to do her dream job of babysitting her granddaughters.
Diane was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Auxillary Unit 317, and was committed to community service. She served on several chair committees within the Auxillary, had been on the board for nonprofit organizations, and enjoyed her time volunteering at the Veterans Home. She will be remembered as the glue of her family. She was the organizer, list maker, photographer, and memory keeper. Family trips were memorable due to her encouragement to take pictures at every road sign and monument, which her children are now thankful for. She kept things running smoothly and always seemed prepared for anything with an attitude of hope and faith. Diane also was a master of the homemade greeting card, and had a penchant for pranks and humor both in her home and work life. She enjoyed travel and was a music lover, so much so that she would always be singing or making up her own songs. Diane shared that she felt blessed to have so many amazing close friends, co-workers, and family in her life.
Diane is survived by her children: Nathan (Mary Grace), Jered, and Jenny (Jason) Welter; granddaughters: Leana and Aria Biesek, and grandson Carson Welter; siblings: Mike (Angie) Konieczki, Donna (Don) Krempleski, Karen (Jeff) Polfuss, and Debra West. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie and her parents.
