Dever Bray

Dever L. Bray, age 85, of Wautoma, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Wild Rose Manor. He was born April 30, 1926 in the Town of Deerfield, the son of Stephen and Edna (Johannes) Bray. He married Margaret L. Wegenke on August 21, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Dever attended Hartford School in the Town of Deerfield and later served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Waushara County Highway Department from 1950 until his retirement in 1989. Dever enjoyed his family, woodworking, gardening and visiting with friends and neighbors. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret L. Bray, Wautoma; three children, Steven (Fay) Bray, Wautoma, Judy (Richard) Voigt, Wautoma, and David Bray, Port Edwards; his grandchildren, Daniel (Brionne) Bray, Wautoma, Aaron Bray, Oshkosh, Matthew Bray, Oshkosh, Leanne (Kurt) Wege, Sun Prairie, Christopher (Courtnee) Hedrick, Wautoma, Joseph Hedrick, Thief River Falls, MN, Zachary Voigt, Wautoma, Adam Bray, Nekoosa, Isaac Bray, Eugene, Oregon, Hannah Bray, Minneapolis; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Wege; two sisters, Marian Gomoll, Wautoma, Doris Klusmeyer, Wild Rose; sister-in-law, Lauraine Bray, Wautoma; his brother-in-law, Darwin (Irene) Wegenke, Wautoma. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin Bray and Donald (Adeline) Bray; five sisters, Dorothy (Albert) Bliske, Erma (Ray) Kitchen, Evelyn( Sylvester "Sal") Johannes, Alice (Wilbur) Daye, and Bernice (Edmund) Woyak; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Gomoll. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Gregory D. Hyatt officiating. Burial will be in Wautoma Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
