Delores Walejko

December 27, 1928 — August 8, 2013

Delores M. Walejko, age 84, of Spring Lake, passed away at Preston Place, Redgranite, on Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was born in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Mary (Kurek) Formiller on December 27, 1928. On January 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to Norbert Walejko at St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro.

A graduate of Berlin High School, Delores spent many years assisting her husband with the family farming business in Spring Lake. Delores was a dedicated homemaker and her family was always her priority. Hobbies included gardening, baking, cooking, reading and polka dancing.
Delores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the parish women's council in Wautoma. She was a past member of the Farm Bureau Women's Committee, the Am Vets Auxiliary, Wautoma Women's Club and the Friendly Circle Homemaker's Club.

Delores is survived by her spouse: Norbert; her children: Deanna (Paul) Grimm, Seymour, Ronald (Sandy) Walejko, Belleville, Darlene (Bruce) Corning, Appleton, Garrel (Linda) Walejko, Neshkoro, Robert (fiancé, Judy Puls) Walejko, Wautoma; grandchildren: Sarah (Bill) Kasel, Nathaniel (Abby) Grimm, Rachel (Chris) Kulow, Gina Walejko, Jennifer Walejko, Jacquelyn (fiancé, Frank Cousins) Walejko, Jessica (Steve) Tok, Jason (Jessica) Corning, Ryan (Marsha) Walejko, Kurt (Lindsay) Walejko, Bret (Erin) Walejko, Candice Walejko, Matthew (Kassiani) Walejko, Andrew (Jaquelyn) Walejko, and April Walejko; 20 great grandchildren; Kaden and Sophie Kasel, Chloe and William Grimm, Lily, Jack and Emily Kulow, Nicholas and Abigail Tok, Ella and Henry Corning, Bailey and Brighton Walejko, Nora and Nolan Walejko, Anaya, McCoy and Natalee Walejko, Ellie and Harrison Walejko; two sisters: Joyce (Spencer) Rodensal, Barbara (Glen) Smith; two sisters-in-law: Marion Formiller, Lorraine Brotske; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her brother: Gilbert (Delbert) Formiller; brother-in-law: Ralph Brotske and sister-in-law: Grayce (Leo) Jeske.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma with Monsignor Mark Schommer officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. A vigil service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may also greet the family on Monday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Delores' memory.
