Dawn M. Flatoff (Stafford)

Dawn Maureen Flatoff, age 61, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 29, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 2, 1963 in Stevens Point, Dawn was the beloved daughter of Leonard and Theresa (Lorbeck) Perlak. She dedicated over 30 years of her life as a paraprofessional with the Wautoma Area School District, mainly working with Special Education and elementary-aged children. Dawn’s big heart and patient nature made her a beloved figure among the children she worked with.

Dawn had many talents and hobbies. She excelled in crocheting and enjoyed crafting. She loved going to the beach and was passionate about hunting for rocks, shells, fossils, and sea glass. She also enjoyed antiquing and playing slots at taverns or casinos. Her warmth, kindness, and talents will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Dawn is survived by her significant other, Rodney K. Stafford, Wautoma; four children: Allan (Cindy) Flatoff, Stevens Point, Brandon (Cerney) Flatoff, Chippewa Falls, Renee Flatoff, Wausau, Kaelyn (Austin) Weidner, Merrill; four grandchildren: Brody, Colton (Katie), Elian, Korra; her cats, grand pups and grand kitties; two sisters: Lynn (Craig) Hempel, Appleton, Lisa Perlak, Stevens Point; three brothers: Randy (Jayne) Perlak, Stevens Point, Alan (Chris) Perlak, Stevens Point, Kevin (Dawn) Perlak, Alexandria, VA; Rodney’s family: James (the late Marlene) Stafford, Neil (Judy) Stafford, Lindie (Kurt) Bentle, all of Wautoma. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dawn is preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Dawn’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11 AM until 3 PM at Dakota Town Hall, N1470 State Road 22, Wautoma, WI 54982
