David Michael Woyak Sr., age 88 of Wautoma passed away peacefully at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau on August 10, 2024. David was born on September 5, 1935 to Jerome and Susie (Jazdzewski) Woyak. He graduated from Wautoma High School and enlisted in the National Guard as a part of the 32nd Red Arrow Division. He was called to duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Dave graduated from U.W. Oshkosh and became a teacher in the Milwaukee Public School System. He met the love of his life and married Frances Mae Yanko on August 17, 1968, and started a family - sons David and Michael and daughter Jennifer. In 1975 the family moved to Wautoma to the same farm where he grew up. Dave farmed and worked in real estate until recently and also worked part time helping at StoneRidge Wholesale his final few years. David enjoyed being outdoors, working on the farm, animals, listening to and playing polka music, hunting, and fishing.

David’s greatest joy was his family, and he couldn’t have been prouder of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed doing activities with his grandkids like hunting, picking out Christmas trees and the annual Easter Basket Hunt as well as attending sporting events, dance recitals, school concerts and musicals. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. David’s family will forever miss his kind soul and his friendly, loving nature.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years: Frances, who was by his side in his final moments; his children: David (Nicky), Michael (Jenny), and Jennifer (Peter) Idsvoog; his 7 grandchildren: Kordell (Amber), Madylyn, Isybela, Marshel, Ella, and Alex Woyak and Peter David Idsvoog; sisters: Violet (Adam) Wanta, Susan (Ken) Feye; brothers: Kenneth (Diane) Woyak, Andy (Marlene) Woyak; several sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
