David W. Attoe, age 74, of Wautoma, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Wild Rose Manor. He was born to Carl and Irene (Apps) Attoe of the Township of Springwater on January 23, 1935. David graduated from Wild Rose High School and the UW-Madison farm short course. On July 26, 1958 he married Lena Weber at the Wild Rose Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, a Sunday School teacher, deacon, usher, and a member of the church choir. After graduating from the farm short course, David enlisted in the U.S. Army being stationed at Fort Hood, TX. and Granite City, IL. When
David came home, he farmed, later changed careers to work at the Speed Queen factory in Wautoma. After the factory closed, he was in charge of supply and maintenance for the former Union State Bank and its branches until retirement. David loved to garden, having a large vegetable garden in the backyard. He loved spending time with his family, whether it be hunting or watching the grandchildren in their activities. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lena L. Attoe, Wautoma; two children, Charlene (Kevin) Rabe, Tomah, Wendell (Kathryn) Attoe, Neillsville; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Jordan, and Molly Attoe, Neillsville, and Julia, Joel, and Jenna Rabe, Tomah. He is further survived
by sisters and brothers-in-law, Nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, and by one brother, Roger Attoe. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Wild Rose Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Kaetterhenry officiating. Burial will be at Ravine Cemetery, Township of Springwater.Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
