Conrad Schneider, age 89, died peacefully at his home in Mt Morris August 29th. He was born in Miami Florida, but moved to Germany in 1934 with his parents who were German immigrants. After the war, American family friends helped him return to America, whereupon he settled in Milwaukee Wisconsin. There, he met his now deceased wife, Doris. They eventually settled in Mt. Morris, which was their home for the following 50 years.
Conrad enjoyed all things nature; fishing was a great passion. A favorite saying was "his fish always required a bigger fry pan". Fall was a special season because of hunting, but then Spring was the time to put in the garden. He also enjoyed such simple pleasures as observing birds and other wild habitat from his kitchen window. He was an avid water-skier, starting in the 1950s. He generously shared his expertise with numerous children & friends. His white boat was a fixture on Morris Lake for many years.
Friends and others whose lives Conrad touched are invited to Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma on October 10th to reminisce, grieve, and of course, to chat. Visitation will be from 10-11, with a Celebration of Life to follow. A luncheon will be served at the farm. Memorials can be made to Trout Unlimited.
